If any of you receives an immediate and urgent mail from "Paypal", please do not reply by clicking on the link provided, this is just another scam link that is repeatedly sent out from other sources trying to gain access to your account.
The Email sent clearly indicated a paypal link but within, it lies another weblink "http://www.startimes2.us/cmThkRqcUe5qBbIUMLTMUxjVXHuoiRBMC8Qg1BHav4pYFzembFoENcG1gf3H4PaiYU4h/". I was convince, i had some issues since i just received an amount from a review sponsor and would need to check the amount to verify and the mail came on time, warning me of problems on my account!
A way to avoid becoming the next victim is to login to your paypal on a separate browser or tab and login through the authentic website, instead of clicking on the link to view the problem. Do not learn it through the hard way, hope this keep everyone on alert of such scams mails floating around.

I got the same situation many times, and never even once tempted to click the link, but there's a simple way to notice whether the email originally from Paypal or not, by seeing the email sender address, and certainly Fraudulent will be @ of non-paypal.com domain, this for example:
or any other domain, and if it's originally from paypal the email address will be like this:

Warning Letter
Subject: Be Aware of Mr. Anthony Bowser Robert (Greece/US. Citizen)
Dear, Everyone
According to my own experience, Mr. Anthony Bowser is not a credible man because he took my money with the amount of 283,000 baht and he did not pay me back at all. Firstly, he invited me to invest with him and told me that we would have a lot of profits from his business. In fact, he wants only the money you invest with him. Therefore, I have to warn everyone who knows or gets involved with this man; try to avoid doing business with him, or do not let him borrow your money. I can guarantee to you that you will face the same situation like me. He has many reasons and excuses to avoid giving your money back or sharing profit to you, such as his mother’s death, lost of profits, etc.
I know him for a while; he is not a good business partner because he always wants only a big amount of profit from you. He has very good skills of persuasion, so please be careful of him even though you will lose your big amount of money. If you are in these fields of business: forwarder, trading, and agent which are related to FURNITURE, HOTEL SUPPLIER, TOWELS, FROZEN FOODS, COPIED BRAND PRODUCTS, SHOES, HOUSEWARES, TEXTILES OR GARMENTS, TOY MODELS, HANDICRAFTS, AND DENTAL TOOLS, ETC.; PLAESE BE AWARE OF HIM.
NOTE: Now, he has a warrant of arrest of fraudulent

Hi, thx for sharing with us about this scam. This is not new for me at all. I deal with these types of scams when it comes to any popular website. I have got phishing mails pretending to be from facebook, myspace etc and asking for login when clicked on the link.
As very well said above, don't login through the link provided in the mail. Just open the website directly n login there.
Regards
Laksh

Becareful with phising on your email please.
June 25, 2009 3:58 AM
Thanks for the info. Thankfully, I don't check my e-mail as much as I should haha.
June 25, 2009 4:01 PM
Thanks for the warning. Actually, this type of mail fraud has been spamming our mails for a long time. They have been using different formats and styles so that their scam won;t be obvious.
I believe Paypal already sorted out on how to deal with and solve this fraud problems. Paypal has been sending out notices to their users to check the mail before approving anything that came from Paypal. People these days would really do anything just to earn easy money. They don't care if it's illegal, all they care about is to earn. The population of people who are creating fraud is increasing each year especially when the recession came.
Paypal is still safe to use but we need to be extra cautious to those people who are trying to steal our money by illegal means.
July 4, 2009 7:11 PM
I've gotten this a few time. Not going to fall for it! Sorry scammers.
July 5, 2009 8:41 PM

Thanks for the heads up though I believe that this will prove to be a significant entry for other people... :)

Strangely there wasa lull over Christmas from the spammers - they obviously are a little bit human too:)

March 29, 2010 11:25 AM
Avoid sales that are not in person. Save the online sales for eBay and treat Craigslist as a sort of digital ad service. Meet these people in person (which also requires a good deal of safety precautions). You are less likely to have your identity stolen that way.
March 31, 2010 7:58 PM
Is that possible that paypal could fraud with you.
