The Favicon allows the blogger to further promote their blog, and to create a more customized appearance within a visitor's browser. but since my topic today is unlike others who spread about changing them to .ico before upload to a google group or a host and then coding it. I will have it done the quick and easy way and hopefully it will work for you guys!
The box that is highlighted in red would be the magic code required to allow this favicon to appear in your blog, like what i have said, you will need to use graphic editing software such as Adobe Photoshop if you don't have then you can try download Irfanview or go online and use Phixr photo image editor.
Currently Favicon can only be viewed using Firefox and the new IE7, while the IE6 could not see, so update your IE or stick to use Firefox.
Guide to install Favicon
Adding a favicon to your blog is a good way to distinguish your blog from the millions of other bloggers around.
- Choose a picture you like(most of the time people will place use their own face to personalize the blog)
- Use a photo Editor(like photoshop or the 2 photo editors that i recommended) to resize the picture to 16x16 pixel.gif for best 1:1 resolution and adjustment
- Host the 16x16 pixel.gif on any photo host like photobucket,imageshack or your own hosting
- Add your Photo host url of the icon to the following code below

Remember to type in the “URL of your icon file”.
Save the template. When you refresh your blog site, you should see your nice little Favicon next to the blog address.
If you are still not sure how to get to the XML of your blogger, then follow these steps carefully:
When you decide to change your blog favicon in future, you can just change the hosting link of the image with a new favicon and thats it!
