We all should know by now Google Pagerank plays a very important part in how our website and blog are going to get ranked. Pagerank is in fact the technology that gave Google a way to improve the accuracy and validity of a search response to a user query efficiently, so what's the new algorithm all about, is it true that Google is going to adopt a new way to get us ranked?
The Man Google Employed was a Student with a brillant work
I don't like to keep you in suspend for too long, you might have heard that a university student was employed and his works which happens to be the rumored new algorithm were snatched over by Google to work on.
Ori Allon is the 26-year-old PhD student behind the Orion search engine that's earning praise from Bill Gates among others for its ability to return pages on not just the keyword entered in, but also pages with content that is strongly related to the keyword.
source searchviews
The new Orion Search Engine might just be what Google had prepared to show us soon but wait till you hear how long this project will take around from the day he was recruited in Google, he will undergo a 18 months time frame to complete this project.
Even if we were hoping this would be the future of pagerank, would it be possible Larry Page and the rest of the gang give us another PR update cause 18 months seems to be a long long wait for the new system to kick in.
Could this project be the death of Pagerank? I will leave it to the crowd to decide, will Pagerank give us hope even after 5 months of wait, what's your thought about this?

Firstly, it pretty much seems that an export/update of some sort has already started.
Secondly, rumors of PageRank being ditched have surfaced before, only to turn to be fake. I'm not saying it's the case this time, but it seems quite probable.

This is very interesting, I can't wait to see what happens. I hope my website's rank will go up as a result of any changes at Google, whatever they are.

I really hope this is the case. In fact, could it have started with the new google promote/demote update? I have a page that went from the depths of SERP hell to #2 for a pretty competitive search term in a couple of months. I don't have a whole lot of incoming links (who the hell does no follow links to any page nowadays?) but the page is extremely useful to users. So who knows, I think PR is a bogus mechanism for ranking. Its basically who can get more creative creating links and not a whole lot to do with content.
