I do not endorse to such experiments carried out by you if anything goes wrong, but it was just something i would like to share with my readers how crazy sometimes a man can go to get better traffic to his website and if you have tried it before, do tell me what's your final result of such an crazy idea.Below i will list out my 10 weird possible ways of surging traffic to my blog.
[1]Using a transport to get your website known
In fact this method was used way back in the early 1980s to advertise their own product across the state and apparently using their own transport was the best way of your product to sell.
Ever since internet came alive with product placed online and to allow their website to gain visitors, they too get the idea of placing their web address on the car and let everybody know, and even pay people to have their website sticker pasted on their trucks and cars.
[2]Using Video Viral and be like Rich Jerk and those weird Gurus
I don't know how true Rich Jerk is doing but it all seems fake when i happen to see his website
and his video all scattered on Youtube, give the money a little respect and stop using that as your toilet paper, but surely it did gain some publicity of his website and his crazy make money scheme online or you may want to join the group of 10 worst marketing video i found online but surely the website was filled with visitors in hours.[3]Get a company to allow you to put your domain on their main page
Go to Google company and hunt for Eric Schmidt and if you are unaware who this chap could be, he is the CEO Director of Google and if you could get a deal with him, you can just blog here with a photo or 2 with him and get mass traffic and congrats from many others who will look upon you.
[4] Making the Headlines in style
If you have a website and requires attention, go to the press, get referral to know the editors, treat them to lunch while allowing them to know you have a website which requires publicity and needs a favor from them to have it published in the newspaper, with an article worth of reading. Make sure they allow you to have your domain published at the writers column.
[5] Another Media Method sure to surge your traffic rates!
Going to the radio station and land yourself a job there part time, while you are doing your live air shows, give your domain a shout and be sure this is already told before hand to your in charge, you are paid to do this job and gets good traffic to your website, a stone killing 2 birds.
[6] Being part of a big event
If your website is about computers and cameras selling online, then its time to print those brochures and banners so that you can setup a mini store strategically outside the doors where large crowd enters and distributing the brochures, while your banners shows the crowd how much cheaper your product is online if they buy it now, would it create a large "traffic effect" on your website?
[7] Get your friends together and form a domain chain
If ever this is to happen, make sure the craziest friends are going to do this, because they have to be thick in skin and able to withstand laughter from the crowd, but what the main idea of this, gaining awareness and tomorrow, you will see your act being uploaded on Youtube,TV Stations.

These are some interesting ways to get traffic to your site. It may cost you a little bit but if you get the traffic then it could be well worth the money.

I will go for the media then, the media makes the best out of it...

I like the transport and crazy friends ideas. I think they would work. I have put together business cards and flyers and gone to like topic seminars uninvited. I just pass them out at the door like I should be there. Sometimes people think I am part of the group and I get in. Either way, my traffic goes up. I have a great site but it is a very small nitch. And even though I am at the number one position on google I only get about 10,000 visitors per month.
I have spent a lot of time on your site today. I like it very much. I am new to the blog stuff and still trying to figuar it out. Your site has been very helpful.

Great tips .. some of those are quite well known though but still they're unusual and unconventional for website. Another useful way could be marketing your website through computer accessories like mousepads. That could be very handy.

These are some interesting ideas on driving traffic the harder way and more unusual. Some of them may have sound pretty good. I'm gonna try to implement that transport one and see how it goes.

you are absolutely correct, most of the online marketers just think with in the boundaries of search engine,as you had mentioned the rest of the things needed to taken care of, it will definitely increase the brand image of the website as well as traffic to the sites.
