What you might not know
Affiliate marketers are like spokesman of a particular product which they promote, their name and reputation are at stake and it's either you make it or break it. Learning how to make affiliate marketing work for you is very important.
You will need to be able to craft an attractive review that can sell on it's own. If you want to make affiliate marketing as one of your biggest income then you need to write a review that is honest with multiple benefits. You need to employ creative tactics to increase your conversion rates if you want to survive in affiliate marketing.
Beware of Marketing Scammers
Before you start promoting a product, make sure you do not blindly do affiliation with an internet marketer that is trying to pull a fast one by promoting a product which in turn is just useless information.
I was once a victim before in Year 2006 when this "Guru" had everything coming and the whole process of transferring $27 to his pocket was very smooth, when i receive the ebook and after reading the whole ebook then did i realise this was a useless junk book, i asked for a refund which he had guaranteed for 30 days on his landing page, but there was no replies. What can you do if you were me then? For me it was a painful lesson that i learned and nowadays i am very careful with marketers that claim you can make millions in weeks.
Promote the Famous and Never Go Wrong
Whenever i do affiliation, i always pick on promoting products that every other affiliate marketers does, promoting a well known figure is much more easier than promoting an unknown product and worse an internet marketer that does not even put a face of himself on his sales page!
Why don't i make any sales?
Products that sell are fairly competitive so it all goes down to how you are writing the review to let your readers know what are the benefits they will get from buying one. I see many reviews that have gone wrong without a single sales when they just copy and paste the features of the product the landing page provides and the drop in another 3 sentence saying that they find this is a good product and the next link would be their affiliate link. Godz!
I am not surprise you are not making a single sales! Affiliate marketers only require to sell on 1 point which is the benefits of the product and for the rest of the product's application and features provided, let the landing page of the marketer do the talking. Chances are a sales will be made after you have lured your potential customer to the landing page.
How to Detect a Fishy Internet Marketer
Detecting fishy notes on an internet marketer's sales page is not difficult but chances of a scam is highly possible, not every customer who visits the site is tech-savvy. I am going to show you a list of scammer tricks that have lingering around yet people are still fall into the fly trap so for those who are reading this, make sure you scrutinize the site well before purchasing.
10 Attractive Points That Might be Deceivingly True.
-
Graphics and layout made to attract. Marketers who wants to pull off a fast one usually do not put in much effort in creating a well designed sales page and their graphics are just horrible and not appealing.
-
Salesletter not up to standard. Salesletter that are written by scammers normally do not have any thrust in attracting others to continue reading on, their main motive is to sell you the product and abscond away with your money.
-
No introduction. Going straight to the selling point without introducing how you stumble-upon creating this program is what i have seem on many landing page. Partly because they are out to just sell and they do not even bother on letting you know about themselves.
-
A Picture of yourself. Scammers who are afraid to show who they are will never see light and they might use doctored photos but it is easy to spot a fake photo if you look closely against the color tone.
-
Clickbank earnings screenshot. Scammers who are out to prove that they are making money online will post doctored clickbank screenshots of them being paid and only those who are not tech-savvy and looking for a "get rich scheme" will fall into such traps.
-
Cheques that he receives. Boasting on his clickbank earning was just one step to make you feel he is great and now with a cheque in hand and a whopping 5 figures which can make you believe he is an impressive and trustworthy guru but the sad truth is, he is lying to you.
-
Claiming what he earns. He sells his $7 ebook report like hotcakes and claim he makes $7000 a day, so that means an average of 1000 people purchases his ebook and there must be those who come and do not purchase anything, that rounds up to around 5000 visitors a day, but how true is this? The Alexa traffic ranking might not be the most accurate but it can be a rough guide to how well this sales page is doing.
-
Boasting the items he bought. Internet marketers always love to tell you how he splurge tens of thousands of dollars which he had earned for just a day on houses and cars. He displays photo of his newly renovated house and car. Are you attracted by the spending power he had showed you or the stock photos which he took from an online catalog.
-
Testimonials. It is important when an internet marketer releases a few product for free to get testimonials from other established marketers to build confidence in it's product. Showing off well written testimonials is another selling point for your product, I will never buy a product that does not have at least one established internet marketer dropping a testimonial.
- Research on the marketer. If you are very sure this is the product for you, then make sure you know who the marketer is. If Ewen Chia, Russell Brunson, Derek Gehl, Brad Callen were to sell a product i am sure you guys will purchase from them because they are well known figures in the marketing world, countless seminars, events and summits they attend. What about Mark Scammer, have you heard of him before and will you buy anything from him if you do not know who this chap is?
I will recommend you do a little research before you purchase a product, go on the search engine and type the "product name" review and you should get a list of reviews if it is a worthy product, some guys actually purchase the product to review and earn back through affiliating. Don't just buy an ebook or software which shows you nothing, make sure it is of value before you decide to laid your hands on them.

You're so right Etienne. There are a lot of scammers pretending to earn thousands of dollars per day and showing you all those crappy stock photos and videos, in which they drive a Lamborghini or sit next to a Hummer H2 or H3 ( or whatever else car they have ). It's kinda sad to see how people throw away 50, 100 or more dollars on junk products, just to make that guy rich...but it happens.
This is a great article! Thanks for posting it. Cheers;)

You can also do a whois on the domain. Legitimate, respectable marketers normally won't be hiding behind a private registration.

It's very good to have you posted such an article. People will be warned! Nothing is guaranteed!
And these scams make it so much harder for legit businesses to have landing pages, even if it is just for lead-gen and not trying to sell anything
