Adsense announces that the recently launched (for beta testing) referral scheme for Adwords advertisers’ products will soon be available to all Adsense publishers in referrals-supported languages. Dubbed as Referrals 2.0, the new scheme allows Adsense publishers to direct traffic from their sites to various advertised products of Adwords clients and earn on a cost-per-action traffic conversion.

Many people only had referral products for Google products, such as AdSense, AdWords, Google Toolbar, Firefox, Google Pack and so on. Now, you can have access to thousands of referral products from any AdWords advertiser who set a campaign up. "Benefits of the new version of Referrals will have an expanded product inventory to aid in the selection of ads that fit the publisher's site. There will be an option to refer products by category and keyword. AdSense does the work in selecting ads to display.

That also comes into play with ad unit optimization. When creating a new referral ad unit and selecting the 'Pick best performing ads' option, AdSense will look for the most relevant choice of ads that should perform best on the site.

A significant difference between referrals and typical AdSense units comes from the policy side. While making any reference to regular AdSense ads violates policy, site publishers are free to highlight and promote referral ads."

Currently not every Adsense Account is equipped with the referral 2.0, so just wait for the new feature to be in your adsense account.
